Behind the Scenes at Garvey Media: MudMixer Evolution Product Review
By Darryl Garvey | Garvey Media
At Garvey Media, we’re a video production company with a strong focus on filming power equipment in the lawn and garden sector — and we’re genuine fans of the MudMixer brand. Before owning a MudMixer, we had very little concrete experience, but since adding their machines to our toolkit, we've poured several large slabs and have plans for many more. The new MudMixer Evolution has been a game-changer for us. With several smaller slab projects spread across our property — jobs too large to hand mix but too small to justify a concrete truck — having a fast, consistent, and easy-to-use mixer like this has made a huge difference. It’s the perfect solution for our kind of setup.

MudMixer Evolution New Features
The new MudMixer Evolution (MMXR-3225) brings a series of thoughtful upgrades over the original MMXR-3221model, making it even better suited for frequent use in rugged environments. One of the most noticeable improvements is the addition of a chute flap, which allows for more refined control and smoother delivery during pours — a feature missing in the standard version. The Evolution also features reinforced steel chute construction, making it more durable and resistant to wear from gravel or heavy mixes. On the electrical side, it includes upgraded internal components, a waterproof solenoid, and a certified GFCI, all contributing to better reliability and safety. The fittings have been upgraded from plastic to heavy-duty stainless steel, and users now have three pivot-latch locking positions compared to just one on the standard model. Even the chute guard has been improved with more secure mounting for enhanced protection. Overall, the Evolution is built with greater structural, plumbing, and electrical durability — and it now comes with a 2-year warranty, doubling the coverage of the original.

Since owning both versions of the MudMixer, we’ve learned a tremendous amount about working with concrete — from mixing consistency to finishing techniques. What started as unfamiliar territory has become a confident skill set, and we credit that largely to having access to these machines. We’re fortunate to have a relationship with MudMixer and are proud to produce video content for the company. They generously provided us with both the original MMXR-3221 and the new Evolution model, which has given us hands-on experience with their full lineup. Thanks to the reliability and ease-of-use of these mixers, we now feel fully capable of forming up and pouring larger projects ourselves — even ones that might call for a truckload of concrete. That’s a level of confidence we simply didn’t have before and could potentially save us tens of thousands of dollars by not having to hire out that work. We’re absolutely thrilled to have these machines in our equipment lineup and already have plans in motion to pour many more slabs around our property in the months and years ahead.
